Shop Foreman / General Laborer
Salary: $16.00 to $18.00 /hour
Job Title: Shop Foreman
Kure Construction Inc. SHOP FOREMAN involves a great deal of organization and multi-tasking skills. The shop foreman is responsible for planning, scheduling, directing, evaluating, and performing the repair and servicing of equipment, maintaining shop organization and cleanliness, and keeping inventory of tools, equipment, and materials. They are in frequent contact with company employees that use this equipment and need material on job sites. They are also responsible for informing their team when things are needed. As with all KCI positions, one is expected to be versed in other aspects of the business and lend a hand when needed or directed without conflict/ question.
The following are expected to be performed on a routine basis:
Cleaning of company vehicles, equipment, restrooms, and shop.
Organization of shop tools and materials (everything has it’s proper place and should be cleaned and put away after every use).
When cleaning the shop, things must be moved and cleaned under and around.
Maintain efficiencies (multi-tasking, route plans, daily goals, logging of maintenance and inventory)
Assist with demo and a helping hand when needed (job starts, trim time, job material delivery and returns, and final clean/ staging)
Cleaning of company vehicles (including interior), equipment, restrooms (at min. twice a week), and shop (floors are expected to be spotless and things put where they belong)
Keeping log of vehicle and equipment repair/ maintenance
Scheduling/ taking vehicles for oil changes and routine maintenance
Greasing of equipment and truck bodies
Making sure fuel cans/ propane tanks/ fuel tank is full
Monitor and fill DEF in diesel trucks
Inventory of equipment/ tools/ fasteners/ material
Prepping equipment/ tools/ material for jobs
Picking-up/ delivering material to job site
Returning extra materials
Scheduling meetings with team members to update them on progress or upcoming costs/ needs
Making sure garbage dumpster is full and placed out for bi-weekly pick-up (opposite of payroll weeks).
Cleanliness and organization of shop desk
Replenishing first aid kits (throughout shop/office and all vehicles)
Fire extinguisher locating (making sure vehicle and shop extinguishers are where they belong at all times)
Cleanliness and organization of garage and bin space at the lot
Tool/ equipment repairs and warranties
Seasonal work- snow plowing
Clean out fridge on garbage days
Pick-up of debris around buildings and lot
Make sure warehouse is locked up when you leave
Fluent English (Spanish a plus)
Valid Drivers License and SSN
Must have a reliable form of transportation to get you to shop or job site each and every morning on time (7-7:30am start time)
Must live within 15 miles of Naperville, IL
Construction experience a plus
Lift and carry 60+ pounds of material/equipment
Show up ON TIME DAILY looking professional and with clean company uniform
Be respectful to clients, superiors, company equipment and company property
Background check and drug check are required
